EXPERIENCE
5+ years of commercial and current hands-on BI Development & Engineering experience
A mixed skill set of traditional Microsoft BI stack (SQL, Power BI etc) and modern technology such as *Snowflake*, Airflow, Kafka, React etc - Commercial experience
Working with large and complex data sets (seriously large)
Proven design, delivery and deployment experience of end to end projects/solutions
Report design, development, and visualisation with a focus on user experience and style
Demonstrated engineering ability to use and learn different technologies quickly.
This is an R&D technology group, so not plug and play/connecting APIs/Intergrations etc
TEAM
Business intelligence as a discipline has evolved from the early days of big multi-month data warehousing projects to a much more agile and business-focused delivery, incorporating real-time cloud BI, BI embedded within applications rather than as a standalone system, and self-service BI. This team has adopted all of these approaches for specific problems, delivered directly over source system data, standardising calculations to support developing data extracts, building print-ready reports, creating interactive data visualisations, and also working with a custom visualisation framework to deliver bespoke solutions and visualisations not achievable using the traditional tools.
The current team in London is a group of 6 highly experienced and talented engineers and this position, a seventh senior team member (growth hire), holds responsibility for several critical Data, BI, Analytics/Reporting and Visualisation projects and business stakeholders across the firm. This is also a transformational phase for the firm, and you will be a major player for the firm moving from strictly using traditional on-prem technology stack to a modern BI stack using technology such as Snowflake, Airflow, Kafka, and Azure. In this team/firm you will be responsible for the full project and product lifecycle, working directly with senior stakeholders, collaborating with various teams internally, and delivering solutions directly to the business, and having a genuine tangible impact.
